Personality
Dominic Jackson had been incredibly disappointed when his wife gave him a daughter. His wish had been for a son, to aid him in his work, and continue the trade when he finally passed on. Of course, it did not take long for him to realize that this little girl was the next best thing. Despite the feminine name that her mother had bestowed upon her in her final moments, Danielle grew up as tough as the nails she worked with. The way that her father was able to breathe life into hunks of metal captivated her, and from a young age, she spent as much time as possible by his side.
But countless hours in the company of a middle-aged bachelor has a way of corrupting a child. Deej adopted her father's fiery temper, along with the short fuse that accompanied it. His dark, often perverted sense of humor, and his tendency to use less-than-ladylike language, also worked to shape his daughter into something that made his late wife turn in her grave. But the man and his daughter were happy, and their time spent together also provided her with more positive traits. Deej understands the importance of hard work, and she is not afraid to get a bit of dirt under her nails. She lives for the adrenaline rush that comes with (sometimes unnecessary) risks, and she's always up for a challenge. Unfortunately, though she is street smart, she is not well-traveled. She knows nothing of the world beyond her own stomping grounds. She also struggles with social interaction, societal expectations, and even common idioms (what's the point of them?).
Positive: Curious, Hard-Working, Determined
Negative: Short-Tempered, Crass, Untrusting
Background
Danielle was raised by her father after her mother died due to complications from the birth. Her upbringing was unusual, as it lacked much of the warmth that one expects from a parent. Instead, she experienced more of a mentor/mentee relationship, as her father passed on his automotive knowledge. The owner of his own mechanic shop, Dominic instilled the importance of grit, but he may not have won the "parent-of-the-year award" while doing so. They went without more often than not, and there were no luxuries or frivolous things in Danielle's life.
Still, "Deej," as he took to calling her, turned out fine. She struggled in school, but that never mattered to her - she would be taking over the shop from her dad, so college wasn't even on her radar. At least, that had been the plan. Only a couple months before she was slated to graduate from high school, Dominic was arrested on a slew of different charges. Most were related to the corrupt business he ran, and as a result, the shop was taken from him. Suddenly, Deej found herself on her own. Odd jobs helped to keep her afloat, though most reputable shops wouldn't consider hiring her. In fact, she stumbled across the invite to Terrasphere while internet deep-diving for less savory jobs.
Now a part-time cook, part-time mechanic, Deej fills her free time with Terrasphere - an escape from the life she's been thrust into. Inside Terra, she can forget that her mom is dead, her dad is in prison, she was given a high school diploma out of pity, and she has no life prospects. Inside Terra, she is all-powerful, and can raise armies of minions to fight for her if she so chooses. Her bleak past, and her bleaker future, don't matter while she's Gideon.
