Personality

Nico is a caring and determined woman, committed entirely to the people she values the most, if she can actually open up to others. Experience, both from her family and old friends, taught her not to go past arm's reach with everyone, and only in a few cases did the rule break. She won't hesitate to cross as many lines as possible for these, yet deep down the cynical in her still considers them a very rare exception.

Whenever she steps into Terrasphere, it becomes a different story, with Fiora lacking the exaggerated expressions or unhinged anger that people know the pinkette for. She tends to be reserved for the most, yet willing to assist everyone within the cursed game, often playing the role of a temporary mentor for the inexperienced before parting ways.

In the end, every Player is expendable and looking after themselves. She's no exception to that, and thus, will never hesitate to lay down a life or two when deemed necessary, as such is the nature of the game.

Positive: Determined, Practical, Selfless, Shrewd, Caring.
Negative: Cynical, Steely, Reactive, Fixed, Blunt

Background

Born in Italy and brought all the way to the U.S, from an objective standpoint she didn't have a terrible childhood, barren her own decisions. Her parent's attention switched to their second borne after little Nico turned 6, and suffered the classic firstborne syndrome years later that made her resentful as she became object of comparisons with her much more talented and passive younger brother. When the girl in the family goes around biting fellow toddlers and instigating anarchy all by herself, it's easy to see why.

The lack of validation made her sink into hobbies she saw unorthodox at first, which required far less human interaction: gaming and literature, specifically comics and competitive games she could triumph on her own, and being surprisingly good at it earned her some fame, despite her streams holding a small community and being nothing out of the ordinary but an angry gamer trashtalking others in-front of a camera. This continued on until VR games became a golden egg chicken of sorts. The limitations set upon them, however, just deterred her from trying them out for long, despite the experience blasting off the waters any other game genres for her. In the end, she started to lose her interest, she started to stream less and less, and actually became a productive member of society, earning her own pay, despite her lack of advanced studies leaving her little options. Still, as a library assistant she got to meet a lot of like-minded readers, and the strict iron-hand of the old codger in charge taught her some discipline.

Wasted potential and bla bla bla, It wasn't until the rumours of Terrasphere's comeback begun to float that she became almost paranoid to chase after the 'diabolical' game. A game with no restrictions, pulling back no punch and granting everyone the opportunity for an immersive experience that she only dreamt about in her cheesy fan-fiction stories. Sure, she had to twist a few arms and put some threats on the few she eavesdropped, having collected enough favours around the library made it all the easier to get a hold of the rumours of who owns a copy of it anyways.

   Libera Anima Vestra

A curse and a gift, granted by 'The Flame'. It gives the ability to channel the user's strongest emotions into physical and magical power, able to mitigate energy consumption from one's masteries via the extraction from others, aswell as to break the limits of their masteries in short bursts. It is essentially double-edged sword, as a lack of restraint and mental fortitude follows grave consequences ranging from gradual to outright catastrophic.

While it may be considered a gift of Pyromancy too, it goes largely unused by Fiora in that regard.

   Tenacity

Fiora's style focuses on chasing down her targets as quickly as possible to choke out any possibility for ranged attacks, forcing them into an up close confrontation. Thus, Speed Techniques proves efficient at this both to reach and swing all at once, be it with a quick jab or with the edge of her sword. Paired with the ability to wield heavy weapons, Fiora has little trouble picking up momentum to either crush or dodge out of an attack.

If this isn't enough, then magic will do the rest to help her catch up.

   Fervor

An incomplete form of her battle spirits, manifesting as crimson flames whenever used. It serves as a means to augment herself the longer a fight drags on, turning anger and wounds into power to retaliate with. It can also be used to amplify her masteries in different ways, such as increasing the reach of her strikes or cut through several targets at once, but generally serves as a mere power booster.

it tends to be energy-efficient so long as she can keep up the aggression to leech EN out of others.

   Judgement

When it comes to defense, Fiora prefers to counter-attack or power through and trade blows, given the retaliation is often easier against a confident target. While at first dodging and blocking are preferred, once she has gauged a target's strengths she will often aim to counter back as opposed to merely defend herself, effectively switching the pace of a fight in her favour via overpowering the enemy's offense and strike while they are most exposed.

w-hemomancy.png

   Bloodletter

It's rare for her to actively use it, as her mastery over hemomancy is purely for her own body's sake, usually when it comes to flushing out bad actors from her blood, or simply to exceed her body's natural limits via speeding up it's functions, be it to fight back cold, preventing blood loss via instant clotting, or simply to empower herself in short bursts.

Although for the most, Fiora uses it to steal the energy within the blood of her targets through physical contact (often through a weapon). Either to be a source of EN on it's own, or to better balance the costs of it when exerting herself.

   Onslaught

Power Techniques grants her tremendous strength, enough to wield heavy weaponry as quick as one would a dagger, and fully complement her rushdown style this way. It lets her overwhelm others purely through brute strength, and paired with Speed Techniques to reach targets in the first place, ensures she's pressuring and controllig the pace of an encounter, mixing one-handed punches, grapples and swordsmanship all into one to break past a target's defense & offense.

Equipment

Greatsword

Greatsword

A temporary replacement to her old sword. Compared to it's predecessor, this one is capable of keeping itself together against the pressure Fiora pushes her weapons through. The short handle favors a one-handed grip despite the weapon itself being a two-hander, making great strength a requirement to use properly.

Expendable, since Ronja can make up a new one easily should it get lost or break.

Traveler Clothes

'Heavy Armor'

A set of clothes mimicking starcalled fashion, consisting of a skin-tight shirt, fur-lined aviator jacket, trousers, and a pair of slip resistant boots.

Other than a replacement for the old rags she wore, it's easier to tell a Lander from an actual player via gauging their reactions, and clothes tend to be the easiest to do so.

???

???

Mark of Conflagration

Runes

A series of black runes carved across Fiora's arms, written in an old form of runic. While her style of rune magic consists of reagants, these only rekindle when fed raw mana and emotion, glimmering in a faint orange when active.

Traits

Emotionally Overtuned (Anger)
Pick an emotion. Whenever you experience this emotion, you feel it a lot more than others, making you overly fearful, explosively angry, unnaturally happy, etc. Aside from that emotion, you manage your wide gamut of emotions better than others.

Mindsend
You can telepathically communicate with another person who shares at least one language with you and is clearly within view. The target cannot reply in the same way, unless they also have the Mindsend trait.

Painbearing
Painbearing
When another living creature that you can see within 30 feet of you experiences any intense physical or emotional pain, you can choose to transfer this pain onto yourself. Doing so allows you to dampen the target's pain, lessening its debilitating effect on them but forcing you to partially endure the pain in their place. This trait can target both willing and unwilling creatures; a target of this trait will be aware when they are subjected to this trait, but not by whom.

Share Emotion
When another living creature is within 30 feet of you and within your sight, you can choose to project your current emotions onto it. This trait can target both willing and unwilling creatures; a target of this trait will be aware when they are subjected to this trait, but not by whom.
This trait considers pain to be a sensation, rather than an emotion.

Beacon (Anger)
This emotion becomes a beacon for you. On activation, you can detect a random living creature within 150 feet of you that is experiencing a particularly strong surge of that emotion, or any emotion stemming from it. You can instinctively feel how close this beacon is, depending on the intensity of the creature's emotions. The trait works both ways, allowing your target to sense your location in the same way.
