Personality
Nero is a hot-headed punk whose words are louder than his actions so when the façade of bravado is seen through, all that is left beneath is a somber nerd who tries his best to pursue the mission he sets out to do: finding a friend he lost to the game.
Thanks to his archeological background, Nero is a super fan of everything related to uncovering ancient civilizations, finding treasures, and solving forgotten mysteries. He can talk at length about ancient lore and history, and may come off as a smart-ass to uninterested ears.
All in all, Nero is very much his own person, one who does everything he can to resist the changes happening around him. His inability to change and deal with changes makes wounds hurt a lot more than they should, sometimes, never healing.
Positive: Goal-driven, inquisitive, creative
Negative: Fanatical, self-paced, deflective, somber
Background
Joaquin was born to a pair of archeologists who spent the majority of their career excavating northern Africa. With the couple hopping countries every couple of years, the boy struggled to settle into a specific culture. None of that formative years’ struggle mattered anyways, since his parents decided to move back to Boston, Massachusetts when he was seven.
Joaquin’s childhood went as well as one could imagine. He was a quirky kid with weird interests and a disturbing lack of social media presence. Despite not being able to get along with kids his age, Joaquin trucked on. He didn’t need friends anyways—he was wrong.
When Joaquin entered middle school, estrangement made it exceedingly difficult to attend school daily. But that was only until he met a boy his age. When the boy reached out, Joaquin reciprocated and the rest was history. The two became the best of friends.
Terrasphere came out the year when the two boys entered high school. The friend was the first to pick up the game and play it religiously. Although he invited Joaquin, the youth turned him down every single time since the game came off as extremely shady.
His fears came true when his friend was found dead in his bedroom while logged into the game a year later. To figure out the why and the how behind the death, the devastated youth tried to log into the game, but was denied due to the block.
In the four years that followed, Joaquin went on a VRMMORPG training regimen to become a superior gamer so he would be ready for Terrasphere when it comes back. He spent every single one of those days tirelessly working on improving his chance to succeed in Terrasphere, working his dance moves on Move Move Rotation, increasing his platforming reflex on Jump Girls, and practicing his socializing on VR Talk, all skills that he believed would transfer and give him a best shot at unmasking the deadly mystery that has been eating at his soul since his friend's passing.
And with Terrasphere coming back, it was finally his time.
He wants answers.
