Personality
As a support main in other games, Valerie has had a inherent reliance on her ever-abundant, glass-cannon carries, and always makes sure to remind them that their lives, and their victories, rests in her hands. She has been long aware of the stereotypes involving female support players, but anyone who has witnessed any of her viral gameplay clips is aware that she is not a support because she is a girl. She is a support because she is the best, and she works to prove it in everything she does. For Avery Aphelion, Terrasphere will be no exception.
Avery is always seeking new knowledge about the world that surrounds her. Whether it be game mechanics or raw information, she is on a quest to improve her strategy. She is always looking for new methods and brainstorming innovative solutions to various mechanical challenges.
Despite her aggressive tendencies, she has enough previous gaming experience to know one must pick their battles if they want to win. The same is true regarding social interactions. She knows that her playstyle doesn't succeed in solo gameplay. She receives no ego from 1v1 challenges from players who haven't recognized that her worth is not appropriately reflected in a kill/death ratio. She does, however, pride herself in keeping her team alive.
With Avery, the question isn't, "What's a support without their team?" Instead, it's, "What's a team without their support?"
Positive: Driven, Amiable, Curious
Negative: Arrogant, Mannerless, Stubborn
Background
From a young age, Valerie showed proficiency in gaming. Her father, an avid gamer, sat her on his lap when she was around five years old and taught her the controls to the game he was playing. She caught on incredibly fast, and was attached to the keyboard from then on. When she turned sixteen, she entered into her first pro-tournament, and to everyone's surprise (but her father's) she placed first.
Gaming evolved from hobby to skill. Every free second Valerie had went into learning the ins and outs of her favorite game, and then using that knowledge to obliterate her opposition. She spent countless hours honing her skills. It was from one of her fellow professional teammates that she heard of Terrasphere. It was impressive graphically, but it wasn't until she began playing that she got a grasp of the competitive potential the game provided. From then on, she was intent upon improving her in-game capabilities with the idea that the game would eventually blow up publicly, and she would once again have the opportunity to make her father proud, and reclaim her throne as champion.
